Largest City on the South Island. I only spent two nights here and spent such time as I had in the city itself looking around the centre. The reason for the the brevity of my stay here was that I spent the whole of the day between the two nights spent in this city travelling to Greymouth and back, in order to make the crossing of the Southern Alps at this point.
