Print Brochure and Menu Design

restaurant branding

TOWN Print Materials

The goals of this project involved designing a brochure and menu for TOWN, an upscale Chinese restaurant. The target audience for the project was anyone between 30–60 looking for an unforgettable night of dining. In keeping with the high-end description from the style guide, I designed a single-page dinner menu with minimal food selections. The minimalist approach continues with the brochure, as I highlight select signature dishes, as opposed to repeating the items on the menu. The typography, colors, and texture are consistent and unify both designs. Both designs also feature proper hierarchy of typography, with larger headings in red and smaller body copy.

I created the menu and brochure with a combination of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. The imagery was found via a Creative Commons search and required no attribution. All attempts were made to balance my creative vision with cultural and social considerations. For example, the plum blossom visual element is beloved in Chinese culture and is a symbol of strength. The designs were selected since they display my abilities with typographical and image layout. Following the most recent feedback, I simplified the type style for the headings, and moved the position of the “Vision” body copy up.
