       Lures

Buzzers

Lures are tied on long shank hooks ranging from sizes 10, 8, 6, and 4. They can be tied on two hooks which are called Tandems. The lure has a role to deceive the trout and to provoke its natural aggressive instincts into attacking. Deceiver lures imitate small fish fry or a stickle back. Well known patterns are the  Appetiser, Badger Makuta, Jack Frost, Jersey Herd And the Missionary (above).
Attractor lures are fished fast again to excite the trout into attacking. This type is best used in the Months of  July to September. They  include The Whiskey Fly, Mickey Finn, Orange Muddler, Dunkeld and the Breathaliser.
Many Lures are not difficult to tie, try this Pattern Below.
