 The Dice Cup
The dice cup of Perdhro symbolizes the
cosmos, and the lots within the cup represent
the energies that affect an individual's life.
It is also related to a game piece, such as a
pawn in chess, reflecting the game aspect of
life. On one hand, there are known quantities
and a basic way the game progresses-in the
form of birth, life, and death. On the other
hand, there are a multitude of uncertainties
within the game. Perdhro also deals with the
interaction of what is called "free will" (the
human element in the game) and what is thought
to be pre-determined. This includes such things
as heredity (genotype) and social upbringing
(phenotype).
Perdhro is also pictured as an overturned
cauldron, which is a symbol of knowledge
relating to the clan in particular, and the
wisdom that is passed down through the ages.
Therefore, Perdhro is the rune that represents
memory, problem-solving, and magical knowledge.
In the ancient traditions, it is said that
reaching the next level of spiritual development
is a matter of remembering who you are. Perdhro
is the rune to help you do this. It reveals
things concealed from your view, those things
hidden within the cauldron, thus bringing them
into your physical reality.
Nornir-The Norns, the three sisters
who tended Urd's Well at the base of
Yggdrasil. Some said that each person
had three personal Norns who decided
his or her fate.
 Frigga-Probably the most important of
the Aesir goddesses, she was the wife
of Odin and identical to her mother,
Fyorgyn, the Earth herself. Frigga
dressed in the plumage of hawks and
falcons, and came before any of the
other goddesses. This quiet Mother
Goddess spent her days in her sea-hall
home. In an effort to save her divine
son, Baldur, she was inadvertently
responsible for his death.
Mimir-The wise son of Bolthorn, he
was both a god and a giant. His head
was cut off by the Vanir when he was
sent to them as a hostage, but Odin
preserved it so he could seek knowledge
from it. He placed the head next to
Mimir's Well, and visited it to gain
wisdom about the secrets of the universe.

The Wheel of Fortune
After hanging on the World Tree, Odin
went to the well of Mimir, where he
sacrificed his eye in order to gain the
wisdom of the runes, along with total
knowledge of the past, present, and
future. The well contained the accumulated
knowledge of all his ancestors, collective
energy that could be tapped into for wisdom
and guidance.
Together, the three Norns controlled Perdhro,
as this rune was the embodiment of Urd's and
Mimir's Wells. Frigga, Odin's mate, spun the
raw material that made the thread which the
three Norns wove into the web of a person's
fate. Consequently, the Norns also controlled
the powers of cause and effect; whatever
medium received an action transmuted it into
a dynamic (but essentially unaltered) form
and returned it to whence it came. The Norns
also controlled time, since the cause and effect
sequence took place through time and duration,
as the past overlapped into the future to bring
about present reality.

Perdhro symbolizes the "Orlog," the
energy that controls your fate.
Underlying this idea is the notion of
cause and effect or action and reaction.
From this give-and-take comes synchronicity
and divination, central concepts with the
runes. By becoming aware of the synchronicity
in your life, you can evolve and become more
knowledgeable about the energies that move,
influence, and propel you forward. The
perception of Perdhro is a paradox-constant
change that always remains the same. Once
again, it is the polarities of energy that
give this rune meaning.
The rune of time and duration, Perdhro
can eventually help bring all your goals
and aspirations to fruition, particularly
if you take the necessary steps. Perdhro
embodies the great pattern, containing
the potential for cosmic manifestation.
It is also the rune of balance maintained
within Oneness. Whenever this balance is
altered, energy is displaced, and it then
moves again to balance itself. In your
magical practice, make an effort to become
aware of the consequences of your life patterns
so that they come out the way you intend. Work
with the energy of Perdhro to gain wisdom and
divination ability. As a vessel, the P-rune
holds the energy of the runes as a whole.
The Rune of Secrets, Surprises, Mysteries,
Initiation, and Occult Powers is associated
with revelations and unexpected rewards.
Whatever was cloudy or hidden is about to
be made clear; whatever was planted is
about to flourish. A strongly feminine
rune, Perdhro is generally positive, but
becomes dangerous when reversed: Nasty
surprises and disappointments await.
 Perdhro's interpretation is rather vague.
Indeed, in old German dialects there does
not exist the sound P, and thus we can but
suppose that the word used to name this
rune has been adopted from some other
language.
Perdhro's position in the sequence of the
runes corresponds to the meaning of rebirth
after death. It is the symbol of the divine
womb, mysterious and hidden, feminine,
gracious and full of power, sexual supplement
to Uruz, whose power would be incomplete were
it not for Perdhro.
Perdhro's basic symbolics includes: the vessel
nourishing and giving birth, keeping hidden and
secret mysteries that are only possible to grasp
after death as initiation. Perdhro is closely
connected with the idea of destiny determining
one's life path at the very moment of being born.
The act of being born itself determines one's
whole further life, all of one's choices and
actions. It is possible for one to tread that
path blindly, in one's total ignorance, or to
try to discover what had been preordained for
them. Perdhro is commencement of the process, as
well as the tool for successful acquisition and
attainment of insights and knowledge.
When used in divination it signifies: new birth,
mystery, magic, divine influence, fertility,
sexuality, new beginning, prophecy.
For use in magik: for fertility, to
facilitate giving birth, for success
in predicting and in practices of magik,
reinforcement of powers of psyche.
When drawing Perdhro in the upright position
it announces existence of a hidden secret
in your question. You still do not know
everything that is essential, but you
certainly will come to learn that in due
time, as the rune says that it masters
all secrets hidden from others. This means
that the person asking the question will,
assisted by shrewdness or through acting
stealthily, attain his/her goal in the
foreseeable future.
This position of the rune can also stand
for an unexpected wealth, most often
relating to money, however also possibly in
form of information that will offer one new
opportunities, assisting and helping one
directly in realization of one's life goal.
This is a generally positive rune, the one
announcing revitalization of one's health
and unexpected gains in all fields as a
result of past deeds or activities.
When Perdhro is drawn in the reversed
position you have to get prepared for a
disappointment. Material gain that you
are expecting is not going to realize in
practice. Important information you have
received recently will prove completely
wrong, untrue. You are advised not to
expect more than other people do, as,
if you have failed to assess the situation
objectively, there is disappointment
awaiting you.
