Inuyasha
Love between a human woman and her lover a demon soon gave birth to a child, which they named Inuyasha, a half demon. Throughout his childhood he was picked on by the human children around him but had soon found love with Kikyou within 500 years!
Kikyou was a priestess who protected a jewel, the legendary Shikon Jewel. She told Inuyasha that he could use the jewel to become a full human, which he only had the ability to do so once during a full moon, but the demon Naraku wouldn't allow that. He tricked hatred betwen the two lovers, and with the last of Kikyou's strength, she trapped Inuyasha in a tree with her arrow.
It is now 50 years later in modern Japan and Kagome, a supposed reincarnation of Kikyou released the half demon, who in turn vowed to protect her. The Shikon jewel had been scattered tacross Japan, so Kagome and Inuyasha team up to find all the pieces.
Inuyasha's feelings of betrayal cause him to shield himself from effection of any kind, but after the many months of traveling with Kagome it becomes too hard to hide it. Although he still acts tough around Kigome, both know that he cares for her as much as he does Kikyou.

Kagome
A young girl from modern day Japan, who had just turned fourteen was on her way to school when her younger brother calls for her help. He has lost their pet cat but is too scared to go near the ancient well, so Kagome decides to go down and search around the well for their cat. After finding their missing pet, she falls into the well and comes out in the older days of Japan. She finds a boy,Inuyasha, trapped to a tree. The elder of the nearby village explains that she is the Reincarnation of Kikyou, the gaurdian of the Shikon Jewel, that is why she bares the jewel herself.She is also told that she can sense where the jewel can be found.
Later on, Kagome free's Inuyasha, only to be betrayed by the half Yukai, but the elder puts a spell on Inuyasha which gave Kagome control of him with just a simple word.."Sit" He is harmless ot Kagome and the villagers now, but he follows Kagome around to try and take the jewel from her when she isn't paying attention.
She loses the Shikon jewel to a Raven-like bird, who swallows it,making it even more powerful that before. The bird picks up a little boy, which Kagome stops to save. After saving him, she shoots an arrow at the bird,piercing through it's body, and shattering the Shikon Jewel!. Now Kagome and Inuyasha have joined together to retrieve all the Shikon shards.

Shippou
Shippou is one of the most adorable, and energetic characters in the Inuyasha series. He is a Kitsune Yukai, or a shapeshifting fox demon. Shippou was the first of the group to join Inuyasha and Kagome in the search for the Sacred jewel Shards.
His attacks are quite mild, with only two main attacks he can't help much in battle, but still does his best. Using his foxfire attack, Shippou shoots a small ball of fire at his enemy, but hardly big enough to cause even a minor burn, but his shapeshifting abilites help the team out much more than they think. Perhaps they underestimate little Shippou..

Sango
Sango is a 16 year old japanese girl who's family was killed by Naraku, who tricks her into believing that Inuyasha did. After finding out by Inuyasha that Naraku had manipulated her into thinking that Inuyasha killed her family, she follows them to avenge her family by destroying Naraku.
After finding Naraku, Sango sees that her brother is still alive..or is he?Naraku is actually controlling the revived corpse of Kohaku(Sango's brother), and although she is aware of this, Sango still cannot fight her own brother. Little by little her brother begins to regain memory, until he decides that his time haas long been passed and removed the Shikon no Tama shard from his back, which was what kept him alive. Sango continues to travel with the party, the weight of her family lifted off of her shoulders made her a little more open.

Kirara
Kirara(Kilala in English) is Sango's yukai feline. It often helps the team out in the time of need by shape shifting into a much larger feline. In that form it has the avbility to fly and can do a lot more damage to it's enemy. Kirara is always by Sango's side, except when helping Inuyasha train.

Miroku
Miroku's personality is most different than the other character's, him being more of the comedic character in the series. He's often flirting with Sango, either verbally or physically. There seems to be love in the air ^~ I may botch this bio up a bit.. because i hardly know anything about the guy, so any information anyone would want to change, or add..please e-mail me. Miroku inherited this hole on his hand, which is used to swallow demons into it, but there is a dark side to this fantastic power. Everytime he swallows a demon rather large into his hand, the hole get's larger.. as well as gives a large amount of pain.
when the hole get's too big, it will literrally devour the young monk, as it did his father. He watched helplessly with his grandfather as his father was killed by his incredible power.. shall this same tragedy be brought upon Miroku?

Sesshoumaru
Sesshomaru is the older brother of Inuyasha, as well as the full Yukai. Very calm he dislikes everyone, except a selected few. Making his appearance on Vol.2, he comes off as being elegantly evil. Sesshomaru is a strong warrior, the perfect opponent for Inuyasha, who dispises him just as Sesshomaru does him, but neither had ever had the chance to defeat the other. Later on in the series, Sess finds a little girl,Rin. She is killed almost after his meets her, and his soft side begins to show. Using the Tensaiga, he revives the child, who in turn, devotes herself to him,following him everywhere(Kawaiine!), and although Rin is human, he allows her to tag along. Jaken, a frog-like creature soon joins the the group as well. Sesshomaru often takes his anger out on the poor creature.
