Nandaba Naota
the hero of the show, as well as a smart-ass. He tries to act as adult as possible(despite the fact that he always carries around a bat), and is frustrated by adults who don't seem to act their own age, which he seems to concider himself surrounded by. Despite his efforts to act older, Naota's attitude seems to prevent him from doing so. This lack of growing up causes him to worry about how he may seem to people around him. But all seems to twist when Haruko arrives, practically forcing him to learn and grow up. He soon finds his true self by the end of the series.

Haruhara Haruko
The leading female of the story, Naota is the Maid for the Nandaba family. She finds much interest in Naota, his thoughts are intruiging to her. She's a self-proclaimed alien who plays bass, which she beats Naota's thoughts with.
She is much more than that though. Haruko wishes to merge with Atomsk, in an effort to gain his powers. But after her plan failed, she was forced to chase him, which lead her to a different planet.

Samajimi Mamimi
A kind of loner, Mamimi is the other leading female character in Furi Kuri. She apperantly used to date Naota's older brother, but now remains Naota's friend, whom she calls "Ta-Kun"(although i believe she wasn't dating Tasuku.. more of hanging out with him a lot). Her other friends consist of the animals she finds and make's her pets, whom she also calls "Ta-Kun", actually come to think of it.. with the exception of Canti, Mamimi pretty much calls everyone in the show "Ta-Kun". You are lead to believe that "Ta-Kun" is short for Naota, but as the story progresses, you find out she Mamimi calls everything she loves "Ta-kun"..Perhaps short for Tasuku? She uses the other objects that she's affectionate of to replace the one person her heart desires.

Ninamori Eri
Class Persident, and daughter to the Mayor of Mabase, Ninamori's life isn't all glamour. Her family seems to be going through some problems, what with her father almost being assasinated, her mother threatening to divorce her father, and her father sleeping with his secretary. Her father, the Mayor, seems to be included in a scandel which is fully described in the show, but it involves the Medical Mechanica plant in some way, though the Mayor's part in the scandel is uncertain as well. During this time she acts Callous or disinterested, which the secretary conciders "adult-like".
Throughout the series, Ninamori learns more of herself and how to express her feelings to her family and even herself.

Medical Mechanical Robot: Canti
A robot from a video game, Canti was one of the first things to pop out of Naoata's mind. The robot was actually built by Medical Mechanica.Inside Canti is Atomsk, which probably used Canti as a scape goat to free himself, but then Haruto screwed up and split the essense of Atomsk between Naota and Canti. Canti is pretty useless unless merged with Naota, which then he can turn into things much pmore powerful than when alone. For instance, he turns a deep red, symbolizing the power of Atomsk, and shoots a red ball(Which is actually Naota). Canti has many jobs throughout the series, such as a baker or even a crossing guard.

Miyu-Miyu
This is the Nandaba family cat, as lazy as he is fat. He seems pretty usless, but Haruko finds good use of him by opening up a channel through Miyu-Miyu to communicate with her superiors.

Nandaba Kamon
A little derranged, this is Naota's father. He's an editor of a Neon Genesis Evangalion Magazine, but alos does a bit on reporting on the scandel with the Mayor of Mabase. He has childhood issues as well, the most dramatic being the one to blame for the death of his class hamster.

Nandaba Shigekuni
A former baker, now Shigekuni is coach for the local baseball team, The Matians. He recruited Cinti as part of the team(one of Cinti's many positions in the story).

Commander Amarao
He had a similar childhood to Naota, also knowing Haruko under the name of Rahal. But she apperantly didn't like him much and moved on. Amarao works for the Intersteller Imigration Bureau. Knowing Haruko isn't all he seems to have in common with Naota. He also went through what Naota seemed to be going through at the begining of the anime, only instead of progressing into a more mature character, he remained the same, a child. He tries desperately to act his age, but no matter what he can't seem to hide himself from himself. He lives life day by day pretty much.
His physical apperance, or actually his facial appearance isn't natural either. His eyebrows actually protect him from having the N-O channel form in his head, and his hair isn't naturally red as well.

Kitsurubami
Second in command to Commander Amarao, Kitsurubami is the exact opposite of what Amarao is, in fact she's possibly one of the few normal characters in the story.. She is either working side by side to Amarao, but is often seen giving out confidential data. She was originally ordered to destroy the robot Canti, but in failing to do so, Kitsurubami discovered how kindly he was and ended up not disposing of him after all.

Gaku and Masashi
Pretty much average teenagers, Gaku and Masashi are Naota school friends. They don't try to act like adults, unlike Naota. Masashi knows how to drive a truck, and even has a job, which Naota finds interesting even conciderably adult, but Masashi doesn't care about that much. Gaku is more interested in what boys that age are normally interested in: Girls.. or kissing, in Gaku's case. Yep, he's pretty average.
