Xander Mellish: Short Stories and Cartoons - (http://www.xmel.com): The story behind this charming site is almost as good as the stories in it. "Xander Mellish" is a young writer living in New York City. Frustrated that she wrote many stories but had no audience, she decided to put up posters. Xander writes: "The first posters were only the typed first pages of each story, with a phone number at the bottom people could call if they wanted to read the rest. I put them up all over the city, on lamp posts and in subway stations and in laundromats, any place people might have spare time to read. I got hundreds of phone calls, and a lot of interested readers." Additional note: If you enjoy Xander's writing, check out her new column "Rear View Mirror" appearing at the NY Daily News' mostNEWYORK website. (08 Nov 97)
Zuzu's Petals - (http://www.lehigh.net/zuzu/zu-link.htm): A very good quarterly webzine that accepts both fiction and poetry, although they publish mostly poetry. They also provide one of the best link-lists of literary and artistic resources on the Web. (02 Mar 97)
