Idiosyncratix - (http://www.ce.ufl.edu/~fjord/idio/index.html): Gregory Goddard intends for Idiosyncratix to be a collaborative writing project. Currently it consists of four short stories by Greg and his friends. Okay prose and some interesting ideas. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated for over a year. (17 June 97)
Imagination's End Literary Page - (http://disemia.com/ie/literary/): This site offers variety of short fiction and poetry by "Imagination's End" and a few other contributors. They flirt with a number of different genres. Think of it as "shotgun publishing"--i.e. if you fire enough random shots, sooner or later you'll hit something good. (20 Mar 97)
Infinite Edge - (http://www.infinite-edge.com/~infedge/): A new science fiction, fantasy, and horror publication. Their premiere issue (Fall 1997) is not complete yet, but the first story, a horror piece called Fouth Person Singular shows the promise of good things to come. Mike Totty and many friends from the Critters Workshop hope to make Infinite Edge a high-quality, self-financing webzine. (21 Nov 97)
Infinity Plus - (http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/iplus/): Keith Brooks established this site to provide added accessiblity for short prose (mostly SF and fantasy stories) appearing in literary magazines that become unavailable once issues leave the newstands. The stories are reprints from top-notch authors, previously appearing in some of the genres' best print publications. Keith adds new material just about every week. Excellent reading--highly recommended. (07 Dec 97)
Innersoul - (http://members.aol.com/soulardent/): SoulArdent (a.k.a. Susan Clemens) started a shared story on her personal web page, in addition to a poetry generator and ongoing dialog section. There used to be a section dedicated to her own fiction writing, but unfortunately she's removed it. She's also an ace graphic artist. (13 Mar 97)
The Innocent's Tale Archives - (http://hornet.inre.asu.edu/innocent/index.html) Michael Tooher's on-line novel chronicles the adventures of Raoul Shielterbaum and his looney friends. To paraphrase Tooher's intro, Raoul is "gorgeous, sweet, dumb as a bag of hammers, and just wants to watch television uninterrupted." This is a recommended read, full of slapstick and wry humor. Michael adds: "Under the interest of full disclosure. . . I must point out that the Tale isn't complete just yet, there are still 15 more chapters I haven't posted." He expects to get remaining chapters on-line at a rate of about one per month. (14 Mar 97)
Innocent Bystander Weekly - (http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/albert/69/): James Ahlschwede publishes and is a primary contributor for this new e-zine. Each issue features three pieces of "short fiction, poems, and anything else we can scrape up." A full archive of past issues (12 issues at the time of this writing) provides a fairly good selection of material. I had difficulty accessing the site, and found it to be slow-loading when I finally did get in. (07 Dec 97)
Internovel - (http://www1.primenet.com/novel/): A unique concept: InterNovel hires published authors to the opening chapter(s) of a novel, introducing a storyline and major characters. Readers are invited to submit ongoing chapters, and a panel of InterNovel employees select one of the submissions based on "creativity, reader interest, and best continuing storyline." Upon completion, the novels will be marketed for publication, and all selected contributors will receive royalties. (04 Mar 97)
The Interregnum Web Game - ( http://www.tiac.net/users/maranci/game.htm): This brief tongue-in-cheek interactive fiction adventure is featured in the Interregnum website. Interregnum is an amatuer press 'zine about role-playing and adventure gaming. Editor Peter Maranci writes: "This is a Web-based game patterned on the single-player adventures which we learned to enjoy in Chaosium's old SoloQuest books." An amusing diversion. (08 Nov 97)
InterText - (http://www.etext.org/Zines/InterText/): An on-line fiction 'zine that's been running since 1991. They publish a bi-monthly handful of excellent short stories in a variety of genres. InterText is of the most professional efforts on the Web, both for writing quality and visual presentation. Highly recommended. (11 Apr 97)
Into the Dark - (http://www.darktimes.com/): Phillip James DiStasio started a "shareware" fantasy novel with serial chapters. He's looking for collaborative help from artists, and possibly poets and other prose writers in the future. For the most part, Phillip's writing is smooth and professional, and his tale is shaping up to be deliciously different in spite his using some D&D stereotyped creatures in his supporting cast. A worthwhile read. (17 June 97)
