Radioactive Aardvark Dung (RAD) - (http://www.rad.edu/): This e-zine dishes up a good selection of very short humor pieces each month. Not a lot of prose, and some of the funniest stuff is allegedly non-fiction. RAD is a good place to visit if you need a quick mood-lifter. (26 July 97)
Redrum Coffee House - (http://www.gothitica.com/redrum/): A gothic e-zine, published (sort of) quarterly by Lesa Whyte. Redrum Coffeehouse provides a menagerie of dark delights: excellent original short prose and poetry submitted by readers, plus non-fiction articles, classic poems, and gothic artwork. A must-see for goth and horror fans--highly recommended. (13 Oct 97)
Reiveland - (http://www.phantom.com/~reive/): Racheline Maltese's website has sections showcasing her fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Her writing is good but would benefit from a spelling check. (Children and Republicans beware! There are also link-lists for alternative sex and paganism info, plus a few tame erotica shorts.) (06 Mar 97)
Rictus - (http://www.rictus.com/index.htm): Rictus is a literary web-zine focusing on horror, dark fiction, and non-rhyming poetry. Formerly a print 'zine, the current issue (#9) is Rictus' first on-line issue. The site is well-designed but could do with fewer .gif animations. Story quality varies: the prose is uniformly elegant but some plots are better-developed than others. (13 Oct 97)
Rowena's Page - (http://red-agnes.la.ca.us/sdy/rowena/): S.D. Youngren posts "a continuing series of stories about, well, Rowena. And her job. And her mother. And other aggravations. Plus some nice stuff too." Funny and charming. (18 May 97)
Ruby's Pearls - (http://www.gate.net/~ruby/): Ruby D. Begonia is a woman who's "sardonic and sarcastic and wears a not-a-rain-hat, but a hat for the sake of being a hat and no other." This e-zine posts Ruby's "adventures" in addition to short stories from other authors. (05 Mar 97)
