Escapade Build Report

Jim Maye's Escapade

In February of 2005, we visited Jim and Tish Maye in Cotter, Arkansas.  They were picking up an Escapade kit at the same time we were from Caldwell, Idaho in February of 2004.  We had corresponded from time to time checking in on each other's progress and saw Jim at Airventure 2004 at the Just Aircraft booth. We were down south and decided to stop in for a visit after an invitation.  Jim and Tish live in a beautiful airpark and have a convenient hangar right behind their house.

Jim has had a Cessna 182 Cardinal for quite some time and it now shares the hangar with a couple of Escapade kits.  It seems that after Jim received his kit, a neighbor was impressed and decided that he would like to order one as well.  They are now side by side and in progress.  Their kits are unique in that they also have hand rudder controls.  It was interesting seeing the progress of another builder and we got the idea for a nice rack for building the wings.
