Escapade Build Report

Once we had cut the holes for the valve covers, we could begin fitting the lower cowling.  Once again, aligning the cowling, made for a Rotax, fit properly around the AeroVee was a challenge.

Making the challenge easier was having Brian Marx around to help us out.  He fit the cowling on his own Sky Raider, which is very similar to the Escapade's.  Brian helped line the top and bottom cowls against each other and also line them up to the boot cowl.

Here the cowling have been lined up and held in place.  The top and bottom cowlings are screwed on to their mounting brackets while the boot cowl is just clamped in place at this point.

A view of the cowling from the front.  Our landing lights will be mounted in the lower opening on the cowling.
