Escapade Build Report

As we near completion of the kit, we now have to look at getting the Lexan fit onto the doors and windows.  The doors and windows were actually pretty easy and didn't take too long.  Here we had to smooth out the edges of the Lexan to give it a "finished look."

The finished left side door and window.  The window and door latch have not yet been installed.

We will keep on working with the Lexan and go to the windshield next.  We fit the wing root fairings so that we could get our hole drilled for the wing pin.  Also, our kit was made before they began putting the front windshield brackets.  We talked to Jack at Cornell and he suggested a piece of high density foam around that tube.

Based on some advice from other builders, we began by measuring across the two butt ribs at the front, middle and back to get the overhead width.  We then set the piece of Lexan over the top of the airplane (above) and drew a line at about the firewall to begin with.
