Due to worsening health problems and family commitments I won't be able to be very active on ARU for the foreseeable future. One thing that struck my eye with the last attempt to look at the political position of the U.C. and the true nature of the movement is to look at how the Encyclopedia Britannica defines Fascism.

I personally don't like simplistic labels for people. Particularly I do not want members of the U.C. prejoratively labelled unnecessarily - making their life AFTER they might eventually leave the U.C. all the more difficult socially and internally. Perversely, such a bad image of the U.C. can actually act to KEEP members in the U.C. as they may feel they have absolutely nothing, no place no self esteem in the "outisde world." But in understanding what Moon is doing in a historic context, things like studying what Fascim really is and the most recent Massey lectures by Ralston Saul are very relevant I think. They don't cover the old "fascist" doctrines, but look at how "corporatism" and "economic rationalism" are simply gutting democracy of meaning (if it ever had any).

I'm not talking about any grand conspiracy, it's more a matter of historical movements, which have many players (like Moon) each with their own agendas, just some go more in one direction and some more in another. Individual members certainly MAY give the U.C. a religious side (taking it's SURFACE doctrines at their word) -which does fit some models of extreme monasticism. But I do NOT consider the movement to be a religion as far as it's top leaders are concerned. This is a big power and very big money operation. The thing I feel about "fascism" is that despite Germany and Japan the essence of the belief system is not racism. The racism of Germany and Italy were more part of the prevailing national ethos's of two nations that felt they had been looked down on for too long, Mitchell McKain's comparison with Korea is interesting. I feel it is almost a national inferiority complex. But I don't know Mitchell, he seems to be half out of the U.C. after finding out how depraved Moon's children are.

With fascism I feel the essence is the primacy of POWER above any other value, and of course the denial of the non powerful individual and populace that "democracy" is meant to empower. These are "taken care of" in a paternalistic structure, they cannot take care of themselves. As far as spiritual matters were concerned many Fascists were contradictoraly "Christians " who beleived Hitler was the Messiah (Germany) or were Catholics (like in Italy) - but at it's essence was a Satanistic and earth worshipping "esoteric" core.

Sometimes I wonder what Moon worships in his heart of hearts. The few occasions Iwas physically close to him I was REALLY surprised that I felt a total spiritual EMPTY SPACE where Moon was - none of the warmth I have always felt from Godly people. One time, late in my time in America challenged him to a staring match - he lost, I felt quite honestly that I had been made to suffer far more than he ever claimed to have in his life, and that encounter tended to enforce that impression. Then I was head of a team that played Ute with the older "True Children" and whipped them at it, again, I felt they had no spiritual "power" just a bunch of rich kids.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Vol4 p691 Fascism In all its forms, fascism displays certain key features. The absolute primacy of the state is the chief of these, and from it follow others: the submission of the individual will to the unified will of the people as expressed by the state and entire obedience to a usually charismatic leader, who embodies the state. In addition, martial virtues, combat, and conquest are celebrated, while liberal democracy, rationalism, and bourgeois values are denigrated. An element of mysticism commonly pervades fascist expressions of the sanctity of the state or the race and declarations of its destiny, as in Mussolini's prophecy of a "rebirth" of the Roman Empire.

NOTE: This next letter is from a "Blessed Child". In the Theology of Unificationism, a "Blessed Child" (born from parents who have been married by Moon) is considered to be born without original sin. Your page is wonderful and I love it!!! I am an ex- moonie, second generation. I have been trying to get my sister and parents out of the Moonies. my parents have been members for thirty years, they were central figures in their former state. now, my family is over seas as "national messiahs" (a recent moonie scam). If you could please send me a direct quote from a speech by Moon where he states that a couple can't be perfected until they are married, you would help me very much. with that info then I could explain to my parents how moon broke his own rules with his three wives. if you could do that, thank you so much. if not, then I will find another way. either way, could you please respond in the next couple days because I will be out of town for a few months, and I am leaving over the weekend. thank you so much for posting this anti-moonie page, keep up the good work, thank you!

Thank you so much for that information!! this helps me as much as it does my family. i'd only left the church a few months ago, and i still was confused over the religious things. but since i've read steven hassan's book and another one called crazy for god, and seen your web site, i know that Moon is nothing but a evil con artist and a criminal, and an Antichrist. thank you. there are many ex-Moonies out there but not all of them realize the full extent of what goes on in the church. for instance, i have a ex-first generation friend in seattle who stilll believes Moon is a great prophet. maybe your web-site could help her too. thank you so much and God bless you! Everyone knows about the birth of Sung Jin to Rev. Moon's first wife, Song Gil Choi in 1948. However, it is now widely accepted (Rev. Moon himself has verified most of the details), that Rev. Moon also conceived a child with a student from Yoon Se University, Myung Hee Kim in December 1953, while still legally married to Song Gil Choi. Rev. Moon says that it was difficult to obtain a divorce from Song Gil Choi. Because adultery is a jailable offense in Korea, Ms. Kim left to Japan and gave birth to Hee Jin Nim in 1954. She returned seven years later. They were never legally married. Rev. Moon accepted the child and raised him rather publicly. Around 1967 (or there about), the child died in a tragic train accident.

It is also widely accepted in the movement that around 1967, Rev. Moon had a relationship with a young sister in the Church, with full knowlege of T. Mother in the house of a very well known elder leader and translater. Rev. Moon never explained why. This woman gave birth to a son. Rev. Moon asked this well known leader to raise the child as his own. The child and his adopted parents are very well known to American members. He was raised in the United States. The incident came to light at East Gardens a number of years ago, when in full view of security guards and other members, the woman made quite a fuss, demanding to see her son. For the sake of the child, I would rather not mention the name, but if you do a little research, you will find out. Some elder members say that this "apparent violation of the Principal" was the final condition for Mother to grow to the top of the growth stage. Sounds awfully convenient.

There are other rumors and reports of possible sexual improprieties, sexual purification ceremonies, etc. in the 1950's. These stories were brought to light by a well known former leader and 36 couple, Hyo Min Eu. Sound familiar? He's the cousin of former President Hyon Won Eu who wrote the Divine Principal. Hyo Min Eu was the second secretary of the Church and inventor of the air gun. I heard that he published a scathing book in Korea a few years ago. His other cousin, Mrs. Shin Hee Eu, has also said similar things.

That's about all I know. You can be fairly confident of the accuracy of most of this information, although I may be a year or so off on the dates. Yes, I'm a former member (22 years). Let's move forward together with God as our Guide and teach our children to never follow authoritarian movements.
