19/07/05 - It’s
not often that Brookvale get only 1 point from both grades against an
opponent in a season but that’s what the boys have achieved this year.
Something to be proud of lads! Read the match report
for the second round Brookvale games.
18/07/05 - The
True Tiger
Spirit returns after First Grade put in a gutsy effort to beat second
placed Manly Vale and Reserves score 3 early goals to outclass their
opponents.
13/07/05 - Humiliation on
the Hill as Firsts get spanked 7-2 by Beacon Hill. Some good news though, as reserves get back on
track.
13/07/05 - Read
all about one of the true legends of Wakehurst
Premier League Soccer. Check out Lenny Sorbara’s Player Profile.
02/07/05 - It
looks more than likely that this weekend’s round will be washed out
once again. To keep up the fitness, round 2 of the indoor soccer competition
will be held in the gym at the Covenant Christian School (Same location as Thursday night). Behind Wakehurst rugby Oval, Dell St, Belrose. Kick-off will be 3pm this Sunday. Be there or be unfit!
26/06/05 - Due
to the torrential rain we’ve had over the last few days training will
be held at the Covenant School Hall, Dell St, Belrose (Behind the Wakehurst Rugby Oval off Forestway).
We will be having an indoor soccer comp so make sure you come along.
Hopefully the walls aren’t lined with the cheap fibro stuff like
Killarney High!
25/06/05 - More
Stats!!! Anyone ever wondered what Amy’s been doing on the sideline
every game with pen and paper? Check out the new PL
Player Statistics spreadsheet she’s been formulating. Find out
critical player information like:
· Who has the best scoring percentage? Surely it
couldn’t be the coach!
· Who’s the biggest chopper in the game? Birdy or Ash?
· Who’s had the most spews?
Reidy should be able to answer that one!
· Who can’t help getting himself offside? Has to
be a forward.
21/06/05 - First
Grade break the Harbord Hoodoo while Reggies suffer their first defeat of the
season. Read the match report
for more details.
14/06/05 - Maximum
points for both grades over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend
double-header sees both grades move up the table.
With
all the other top of the table teams dropping points First Grade have made a
remarkable recovery from 9th early on in the season to outright 2nd place.
Reserve
Grade remain undefeated and are now 6 points clear after fellow leaders,
Pittwater, lose to Mosman on Saturday and have their Monday game postponed
till midweek.

09/06/05 - Due
to the double header over the June long weekend there will be NO TRAINING on
Tuesday, 14th June. Don’t be disappointed, the annual
“Premier
League Golf Challenge” will be held instead. Make sure you bring
your sticks and balls to have a chance in winning some great prizes.
08/06/05 - A
new addition to the Tigers squad bolsters the attack. Read Joerg Dierkes’ player
profile to get the low down on this new addition.
06/06/05 - Mate
versus Mate, Suburb versus Suburb. The Local Derby against Belrose was billed
as one of the toughest games of the year and the game didn’t
disappoint. Read the match report
for more details.
06/06/05 - Check
out some new photos taken during the Saints and Manly Vale games in the Photo Gallery
or follow the direct link.
31/05/05 - Lowly
placed Saints battle hard against the Tigers but probably didn’t get
the result they deserved after being reduced to 10 men. Read the match report
for more details.
27/05/05 - A
big thankyou to A. Mathieson and the staff at Spittlers Restaurant for putting on dinner and drinks for
State of Origin I. A good night had by all, a shame about the
result but a great game none the less.
23/05/05 - The
Tigers are back in the ball game after an impressive 2-1 win over a strong
Pittwater outfit. Reserves comeback in the second half for an important draw against
fellow leaders. Read
the match
report for more details.
23/05/05 - A
good crowd turned out at the clubhouse to watch Arsenal beat an unlucky Man U
in the FA Cup Final on Saturday night. Even though Man U dominated for much
of the game, Arsenal somehow managed to hang in there and eventually win in a
penalty shootout. The night was made even better when the editor fought his
way through to the final of the “Playstation
Competition” to also win in a penalty shootout and take home the
coveted first prize. Anyone that wants a rematch, the sparkling new PS2
console is taking pride of place at my house and is primed to go! A big
thankyou to Eddy Fong and Ubisoft who donated the
PS2 Console/Game as first prize and for also organising the competition on
the night. Thankyou to Dill and Guy who put in a tremendous effort to
organise the night and special thanks to Steve Knight and Ed Neill who made
generous donations towards the bar. I’d also like to thank Mike Waller
for all his efforts on the night, to be last man standing and also back up
early the next morning for BBQ duties.
17/05/05 - A
scratchy second half performance sees First Grade go down 3-2 to Manly Vale
but reserves remain top with a tight 1-0 victory. Read the match report
for more details.

12/04/05 - BBQ and Raffle
Roster now available. If you’re unable make it on the designated
dates let me know so I can change or organise to swap with someone.
12/04/05 - Co-ordinators
of upcoming social
events have been assigned. Feel free to volunteer and help them out.
07/04/05 - Make
sure you and your friends get down to Lionel Watts this Saturday, 9 April for
the first home game of the season as a big crowd is expected. It’s the
first time in a long time that the Premier League Team will be playing on
field number 4 (next to the Club House). The Club has worked hard in the off
season to bring this field up to scratch. So why not come down and sit on the
balcony and watch the best local PL team run around against Harbord Seasiders United while sipping on your favourite
beverage. The canteen will be open all day with a BBQ running during and
after the game. Some lucky young kid will also be chosen as Mascot of the
week so bring your kids along. Game Times: RESERVES – 1pm, FIRSTS – 3pm.
06/04/05 - As
the season has already kicked off and we are fast approaching the first home
game of the season we need to start organising what we're doing on the
social/fundraising side. Firstly, we need to organise the BBQ and Raffle for
this weekend's game as well as start to plan what we want to do throughout
the season including EOY Trip. I suggest we meet after training tomorrow
night (Thu 7/4) and elect a social committee as a start. After the success of
the Sydney Swans/Rose Bay outing last year I suggest re-electing Tim Sheath
and Sutho to the committee (Maybe we'll actual go
this year!). Beer and Pizza will also be on the menu
30/03/05 - I know it’s hard to believe but surely a man of
such knowledge, wisdom, intellect, speed, athleticism, agility, soccer
prowess and not to mention hairline, should be much older than his years
indicate. But alas it’s true; Ash “Grimaldi”
Mathieson is only turning “30”. Come
help him celebrate his 30th birthday at the Wharf Bar, Manly this
Saturday night at around 7:30pm and hear Ash talk about his
favourite subject, himself.
30/03/05 - Better
late than never… Photos from
the 2001 end of year trip to Forster/Tuncurry.
29/03/05 - A
great day had by all at Royal Randwick on AJC Derby Day. Apart from a bit of
wet weather there was an abundance of scenery and amber fluid making for a
great day. Congratulations to JD and his mates. A great start to the day
winning 5 big ones on the first race by backing the first 4. Unfortunately
this little punter didn’t have a repeat performance of winning on the
first 5 races like last year but still managed to take some hard earned off
the bookies. A tip when punting with Rains and Johnno…
Find out what they’re backing and get off it!
22/03/05 - Two
hard fought games against the Strikers on the weekend resulted in a solid 1-0
victory for Reserves and a controversial 2-2 draw for Firsts after some
curious refereeing decisions. Read the match report
for more details…
22/03/05 - Congratulations
to the Rainbird Clan!!! If you were wondering why Birdy
was a bit bleary eyed on Sunday, it was for good reason. The Rainbird’s
are proud parents of a baby girl, Natasha Rainbird, born around 1am Sunday morning, Size/Weight?
(Can’t be too big if related to the Birdman)
