About a 2-3 lb. rump roast or another lean cut of beef |

1/2 cup brewed black coffee |

1 tsp. minced garlic |
 |
|
2 tbs. soy sauce |
 |
|
1/2 tsp black pepper |

1/4 cup water |
Place the beef in a roasting pan.
In a bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients. Stir briefly just to mix ingredients.
Pour the liquid around the roast and place it in a pre heated 500 degree oven for ten minutes, to sear. Turn the oven down to 350 and cook for about 1 hour 45 min.
You can also place potatoes, carrots and onions around the roast for the last 45 min. if you like.
When the roast is finnished cooking reserve the liquid. Place it in a container and put it in the refrigerator.
