Summary of Matthew's Gospel: The Resurrection

After Jesus had died, Mary Magdelene went to the tomb of Jesus to pay her respects. As she was approaching the tomb, the great stone was rolled away, and an angel appeared to the Roman guards. The angel told the guards to get the disciples, and tell them to go to Galilee. Some of the guards did go to the disciples, but some went to the Sanhedrin, and told them. The Sanhedrin did not want people to find this out, so they made up a rumor, that the disciples stole the body of Jesus. When the disciples met Jesus in Galilee, he told them, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.", and so the disciples di go out and tell everyone of the Word.
