Summary of Matthew's Gospel: The 3 Temptations

As Jesus wanders throughout the desert, the devil tempts Jesus 3 different times. The first time the devil wants Jesus to turn stones into bread, so that he can have something to eat, in order to prove that he truly is the Son of God. But Jesus refuses because he knows that he does not need to to know that he is the Son of God. Then, the devil takes Jesus to the top of the temple, and tells Jesus to jump from the top of the temple, and if God was really with im and cared about him, then, God would send angels down to catch and save him. But Jesus says, that it is written to not test God. Finally, the devil takes Jesus to the very top of the mountain and says that if Jesus would bow down to him, then all ofthe world would be his to rule. But Jesus refuses, and says that God is the only one that he will bow down to. Thus, the devil walked away in defeat.
