Summary of Matthew's Gospel: The Sower and the Seeds

Jesus tells the parable about a sower who throws seeds all along a road that he is traveling. Some land where there is nothing that they can be fertile in at all, some land where there are large, thorny bushes that let the plants grow, but then stifle then, some land in rocky soil, so when they begin to grow, they quickly die from lack of water, and some land on fertile soil where they take root, and reproduce 100 fold. The sower is God or Jesus. The seeds are his message. We are the different types of soil. If we choose to reject the teaching all together, then we are most like the land that is not fertile at all. If we take in the message, but we forget aboutit thanks to society, then we are like the rocky soil. If we take in the message, but soon loose interest in it, then we are like the soil with the stifling bushes. However, if we take in and keep the message, then we are like the fertile soil, that allows our faith, and the faith of other to increase exponentially.
