Summary of Matthew's Gospel: King Herod the Great

Herod the Great had found out that their was going to be another king born, and he was not happy about that because he was worried that he would take his throne away. So Herod devised a plan. Herod's plan was to have the magi tell him where he could find the New King, so that he could also pay homage to him. However, the magi knew that Herod was planning on killing the new king, so they tricked him into thinking that they would return, and tell him where to go. Herod was so angry and so worried about losing his throne that he had all of the young boys under the age of 2 killed around the city of Bethlehem. However, Heord missed the new king, and Herod later died.
