My Thoughts on the Subject...

Hello again, it's me.... ok so that isn't as impressive as I'd like it to be, but you're still here reading it.  Anyway, the CIA.  I was reading an article in the USA Today online about the new policy on spying that the more rugged CIA is planning on taking and I found myself saying only one thing- If we inform everyone that we're going to be doing this, doesn't that defeat the purpose?  The other option is that we're trying to use it as a deterant, though I'm not sure how that would work.  I fully admit that I have every intention of pursuing a career in the CIA, but I just don't understand.  Maybe it was an internal leak, in which case, there'll be ANOTHER investigation and that just sounds like a waste of a lot of taxpayers dollars.  I mean, isn't the point that we're supposed to be one step ahead of any Deep Throut type employees?  Hell, it's a spy agency!
The other thing that I was reading is that Colin Powell has decided to resign and that greatly disturbs me.  I can remember back to a class that I had in game theory and we spent a lot of time discussing Group Think.  This looks as though it is a situation that is ripe with group think potential.  I liked the fact the Powell was a moderate voice, the guy that said, Hey wait! Let's think this through for a minute!  Granted I would have like him to be a bit more able to influence something, but hey, we can't have it all right?  I appriciate the fact that the last four years have been pretty tough on him, but the man led a successful war in the Gulf, are washington suits that scary?  I'd like to first express my sincere thanks to Mr. Powell for doing what he's done- though I can't think of a specific example- and then plead with him to reconcider.  Or to at least request someone other than Ms. Rice to fill his position.  No offense to Ms. Rice, but I don't think that she has seen the bigger picture in all of this.  But it must be nice to go tot the ranch for BBQ's.
What happened to the good old days of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington?  Where is that fire and spark for anything and everything that is good?  I realize that the world has been plunged into a vat of gray area, but what the f*ck!  I'd like at least one sincere and reasonable voice to rise up out of this cacophony of bull sh*t.

As alway, this is just my opinion.  So anyway- I've written a couple of songs and am waiting on my brother to put some rhythms to them.  Wish me luck.
