| HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first time that I've felt like Thanksgiving isn't a family affair since about 1992, when my grandfather called his family together for the last time. So, it's kind of liberating! For once there will be no tears, no drama, none of the family crap that everyone loves to dread about this particular holiday (at least I think everyone??) So, as my contribution to the holiday for any of you who need a good recipe between today and Christmas Eve- here goes...... Green Bean Casserole 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 3/4 oz.) 4 Cups of COOKED Green Beans (you can also use 2 cans of French style green beans) 3/4 cup milk Pepper French's Fried Onions (one canister per can of soup) Mix the soup, beans, onions (only 1/4 of the canister), milk, and pepper in whatever you feel like and put the mixture into a casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 25 minutes and then add the remaining onions over the top of the beans and let brown for about 5 minutes. Many thanks to the people at Campbells Soup and French's Onions for coming up with this recipe that I have had every year since I was born (whether I wanted it or not). The Simon Family Vodka and Tonic Recipe Take 1 16 oz. Pint Glass, place 2 small ice cubes into it. Take 1 bottle of Absolute Vodka- pour 3/4 of the way to top of glass. Take one bottle of tonic, fill the rest of the glass. Use limes to taste. Mix all ingredients together and hide in a corner because two of these, and the drama will begin! Ok, so I guess that the last recipe is a bit mean to throw into this, but it doesn't make it any less true. So tonight I vow, no drinking, no drama, and no cooking! Have a Happy Holiday!
