| Topic: I guess that you can go back again? I'm back in my old stomping ground, at least for another few hours, and I can safely say that I've felt like the last six months in DC have been a dream. I came back and as my friend Geri said, "the rhythm was still there." That is a first for me. In the past, when I've gone back to a place that I've left- it just wasn't the same. People had changed, interrests had diverged, and bonds just weren't there. Not so this time. It's a very heartening experience. So the update as to what I've been doing for that last half of a year! Well- working. I wish that I could say I had something more interresting to report, but I don't. I mean I've had my little divergances, but nothing spectacular. The most interresting mission of my six month tenure has been trying to make friends with a guy that I work with though he is more talented than I am at evading direct questioning. It's interresting though that I have managed to find out quite a bit about this guy, though it is all superficial. And the superficial has been annoyingly difficult to find out, I might add! I mean- do any of you have people at work who do not utter a word about their personal life? It an employers dream, I know, but just doesn't seem natural. And when I return, I continue on my mission to befriend Mr. X. I'm also on a mission to find friends period. I've had a few people to hang out with, but it's more difficult than I thought to meet people when you're not surrounded by an achademic setting in which everyone has to be there. It's amazing! Every guy that I've met has either been married or gay! The first male phone number that I got in town- a sweet, gay Cambodia boy. Now I wish that I could say that the ladies that I work with or meet have been open and wanting to go get coffee and hang out, but that is not what women do (they're too afriad of each other). I hope to have my computer fixed soon so that I may update this site more frequently, but until I shall sign off with an until next time. CSHL- Sunrise, FL.
