October 1, 2003 I went to the post office and expected nothing as usual. When I looked inside the box I found a lot of ads. Then I saw a slip saying that we had somthing too big for the box. I went to pick it up and it was addressed to Logan. When it was opened, inside was two new wooden board puzzles (one has puppies, the other has barnyard animals) and one small cardboard puzzle with numbers. They were sent to us by Jeanne (Thanks a bunch!! Logan loves 'em. He was playing with them for an hour straight which is great for his attention span). We got the car fixed. It was two belts instead of only one. So now its fixed and my mom isn't as afraid to drive with it, but there are some things wrong with it. The speedometer isn't working and the steering wheel is very wiggly. We have a Halloween style basket on my mom's dreams page. Logan now has a new exercise trampoline, hopefully he doesn't break this one as fast as the other one.
October 3, 2003 This hardly ever happens, but when it does, it can be very scary... My mom was at the store with my brother Logan and my dad. Logan was "helping" by pushing the cart. She pointed out something to my dad for a second, then when they looked at Logan he was gone. My dad had to call a "Code Adam" so that they could find my brother. My mom was standing at the front of the store, by the doors, that way if Logan came here, he couldn't run into the parking lot. Dad was searching the isles while overhead, the PA system told the employees and everybody else, that there was a little boy missing and his description. He came to the front on his own. He came straight to my mom, and one of the employees tried to talk with him, saying, "There's your mom," while pointing at her. He looked up saw her, and ran to her, so obviously he knows who his mommy is. Better news, the basket on the dreams page started to grow. And in the PO Box, we got a free tube of toothpaste, samples are cool!! It is the new Crest orange flavor, too.
October 5, 2003 Yesterday, a neighbor kid we know was walking to my house. When he got to the apartment he knocked on the door, and his knock was very impatient. When I open the door he was screaming saying, "There's a scorpion! Help!." When I looked, I saw it, right on the opposite side of my door. It was, as you can see, yellow - which means it is a desert scorpion, but still poisonous. So I took a broom and knocked it off the wall, and then took a few snapshots of it. You know what? Scorpions don't like it when you spray Raid on them, and I don't like it when scorpions try to sting . The pictures didn't come out, but sure enough, this morning, there it was dead right in front of my door. I took some pictures that would actually come out - you can see them on the right. The bottom picture has a shoe and leg of our across the way neighbor, so you can see how big this one was. Click on them to find out more info about desert scorpions.
October 7, 2003 Yesterday, we were coming home from a quick shopping trip, and when we got home, there were cops swarming the apartment complex. Apparently, there was a violent fight between two 16 year olds. One was either hit or stabbed in the head. He was taken to the emergency room, and the other guy who did the crime was thown in the police cab. Along with him, the 16 year old taken to the hospital will also be put into jail, after he is out of the hospital. With what happened last night, this morning Joshua was being pushed around at the school bus stop. My mom talked to the office, and they said that they couldn't do anything about it, really. On another topic, Logan has been bouncing all over the place today. He has not stopped yet. It's 9:30 PM, and he has tried to climb on the fridge since I've been typing at least 6 times.
October 11, 2003 Today was beat up Allen day, because Logan just kept on biting me, along with hitting me at full strength. Also, while I was at the pool, I got clobbered by six kids at once. Logan was most unhappy just before he went to bed, at 10 P.M. Yesterday, my mom and dad took Logan to see Aunt Jenny, and her baby, Elise (she's 8 months old now). Logan could only handle being there for about an hour... and it takes almost an hour each way to get there. On Wednesday, mom and I took Logan to the doctors office, and we were stuck in the waiting room for about an hour. Then we couldn't get Logan's blood pressure read, he wouldn't stay still even for candy. We sat in the room for almost another hour, then the doctor came in. My mom asked if there is anything that they could do to help, but they told us nothing. So all summed up, we waited 2-3 hours for him to say, "Sorry we can't do anything, but here's a refill until you see the specialist." He's on three different medications right now, all they do is calm him down some. Not enought to make him stop biting himself when he gets mad, or frustrated, but it does help a little. A couple of days ago Logan's candle page was updated, so light the candle again, there's over 1750 times it's been lit so far!
October 13, 2003 I went to help the maintenance guy paint an apartment yesterday. I got paint all over my new shorts (I knew I should have changed first! Whoops!). I am going to try and see if I can get a job around here. I am 16, but he said with the insurance that they have I can't work here until they get better insurance. Oh, and our manager got arrested. He had a warrant out for him. A couple hours ago, Logan decided that, while I was taking out the trash, he would paint the ceiling with the pancake mix that I had just stirred up. I spent about twenty the thirty minutes cleaning that up. The maintenance guy gave me a small thing of paint for touch-ups, mud-glue for the small holes in the drywall, and a couple of other things. I am trying to figure a way to get $25 for my homecoming dance for me and my date. Hopefully I can find out how to get it by the 25th. Also, we sent a recent picture to all of our family members. To see it click here.
October 15, 2003 Logan stayed home from school today because he can't seem to keep anything in his stomach, he just hurls it back up. My mom got four teeth pulled yesterday (PAINFUL), plus they are going to pull four more next week. Mom talked to Logan's teacher, Mrs. Hudson, and she suggested that we get miniatures for Logan. There is more explaination on the home page. We got a new screensaver - if you click on this link, and you buy it, we get 15% of the sale, so yet again, here is another way to Help Us Help Logan. It is very realistic looking. If you get just the demo, you get three fish and a starfish. When you buy it, you get seven fish and the starfish. You can pick from a Clownfish (like Nemo), a Regal Tang (like Dory), a lionfish, and many others. Logan loves it, he will sit by the computer calm just watching it - and calm isn't something Logan does very often!
October 17, 2003 My mom told me about one of her pet-peeves - when people spell the word lose wrong. She said that she has seen it spelled loose on a lot of different websites and emails she has received. A person is not a looser, a person is a loser who can't even spell the word lose. Oh yes, people don't loose money, they lose money. A person is not loosing their mind, a person is losing their mind. My mom is always on my case about spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading. It does help a little bit in school though. After school today we went to the local Annual Founders Celebration. It's like a great big craft and merchant fair. We stayed for a few minutes because Logan was not liking the crowd of people around. The car ride there was annoying because Logan was in the backseat with Josh and me, and he wanted to have not only his soda, but mine and Joshua's. He started screeching, so we both ended up giving Logan our sodas. As soon as we got home he was fine, it just makes it hard sometimes to do stuff when he's in those kind of moods.
October 19, 2003 Happy birthday to Aunt Jenny, we all love you! We went to the Hardyville Days Faire again... and scored on 3 bags of free clothes! Earlier today Allie and I helped the maintenance guy clean another apartment. Josh is feeling sick now, and Logan is feeling better, but now I am starting to not feel so good.
October 21, 2003 Bad day for me today, been fighting feeling sick. I went to dinner at a friend's house yesterday, her dad made stir-fry. Logan was up until 5 am Monday morning, so mom let him stay home from school with Josh, because he was sick too. Today was a good day for both of them, they are feeling better. Mom had 4 more teeth pulled today, so she's not feeling good either. Allie and Josh went to a birthday party, and also went swimming today. Don't forget to check out the pumpkin basket, it changed again.
October 25, 2003 I went to our homecoming bonfire on Thursday, game on Friday, which we won 7-6, and tonight I went to the dance. I won a dance contest. No prize, just applause. I got my picture taken with my date, too. Logan has been normal for being Logan. No outstanding behavior; nor very bad. Helped the maintenance guy again, he's trying to get me into a job, and all I need is a work permit and my mom's approval. "Having a job depends on your grades," she said. The basket changed, it is almost done growing.
October 29, 2003 Grades came out for this first quarter, and I didn't do as well as I hoped. As of Monday I had an 'F' in English, but mom called the school today and found out I managed to bump it up to a 'C' with work I have turned in (late - whoops) over the past couple of days. There's hope for getting my work permit yet! Allie and Josh both got on Honor Roll, Allie had all "A's" but one, she had a "B" in math. Logan has been doing really good in school, with puzzles especially. The basket is finished blooming, and there's new stuff on the shopping page, too!
