February 15, 2004 - This is the monthly update, until everybody is home, as I can only devote so much time to this - most of my energies must go to the safe return of ALL my kids.
Good News - Alexandra and Joshua have returned home, as of the 6th of this month. We are still trying to get Logan and Allen home. We went through the courts, and as push came to shove, they dropped ALL the allegations, but CPS still wants to have a hand in getting Logan to his final of three appointments through Inland Regional.
Bad News - Allen has decided, in his 'infinite wisdom', that he does not want to come home at this time. Personally, I feel this is a big mistake on his part, but, as everyone tells me (as if I didn't know), he is 16.
More Bad News - My father, at the age of 55, passed away on January 19th with heart failure, due to kidney malfunction. He is and will be greatly missed by all of us for a very long time. We did not tell the kids about this until the 6th of this month, when Alexandra and Joshua came home. It was a very emotional day for us all... I'm still having trouble trying not to cry every time I think about it. I miss my Daddy... I was always a "Daddy's girl". I want so much to talk to him, to get his advice...
I tell you, it's a wonder I can even think at all, with all that has happened in the last couple of months. Allie and Josh are dealing with being back very well, but they still very much want us to be a whole family, to have it back the way it was before all this nonsense happened. We keep telling them it will happen. It will.
