Extreme weather events

There is a possibility for extreme weather events to increase in frequency and intensity with global climate change. Wind damage, storm waves, heavy rains and flooding resulting from storm events have caused major dislocations in many territories, particularly affecting the tourism and agricultural sectors.

Increasing our preparedness to the extreme weather events and improving the related emergency services is needed. In the Caribbean there are several regional and national projects that aim to this end. Take a look at for example:
