ONGOING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ...the task of the teacher, who is also a learner, is both joyful and rigorous. It demands seriousness and scientific, physical, emotional, and affective preparation. It is a task that requires that those who commit themselves to teaching develop a certain love not only of others but also of the very process implied in teaching(Paulo Friere, 1998)

The sentiment expressed in Friere's quote above is exactly the attitude
and ethic which I strive to attain in my teaching practice in
particular, and my life in general. Teaching, for me, is not merely
an occupation, but rather a vocation. It is not a science, but an art.
And it is not merely a means, but an end in itself. I feel that the
various artifacts presented below reflect my attempt to develop as an
educator for the benefit of my students and myself.
