| Home: | To whom it may concern:
I am a graduate of the primary/junior, pre-service program from the University of Ottawa, and am looking for full-time teaching employment at a philosophically like-minded elementary school for the upcoming 2003-2004 academic year. My primary/junior teaching qualifications, as well as my four and a half years teaching experience in Taiwan, make me an excellent candidate for a teaching position. My educational, life, and career choices have moved me towards a career in teaching children. While I have taught older age groups in Taiwan, the majority of my time was spent teaching children ages 5 to 7. My experiences range from managing a variety of class sizes, creating age-appropriate materials, activities, and units, as well as developing student motivation techniques. Further, the valuable work I have done in my pre-service program and practicum placements have increased my repertoire of both traditional and progressive teaching methods. In addition to my teaching experiences, and my competence in the core subject areas, I also have had experiences in working on a team to create curriculum, and my personal interest heightened this year with exposure to the Backward Design method of curriculum/unit design. I also have intermediate level mandarin speaking, reading and writing skills, and can play many sports, particularly badminton. I thank you for visiting my website, and look forward to hearing from you in the future. Please click on the links below or at the side to find out more about me. Sincerely
Shawn Lajeunesse
