The Republic of Pistrix is a republic in name only. the only national office eligible to be elected by citizens is the Supreme Chancellor, whose candidates are nominated by the Supreme Council of Ministers. The Council, meanwhile is autonomus and self-maintaining. Overview: The Republic of Pistrix uses a liquid currency system based on the natural deposits of mercury found in its mountains and ranges. For typical transactions, a tiny vial is used called a "pistick" containing 1.5 ml of mercury. Larger and more precise transactions are made by distributing the liquid elements in Merc flasks or pouches. The Pistran economy is based on its mercury supply, for which it has a global monopoly on.
