A massive earthquake kills 70,000 Pistrans in the Southlands, an arid region of Pistrix known for its abundant mercury deposits. Most of the survivors migrate north, leaving the region sparsely populated for years to come.
The First Pistran Civil War breaks out between rival clans, the Dungi and Allegro. The Dungi clan is wiped out, but a weakened Allegro clan did not remain in power long, and eventually dwindled away from existance.

The righties only relinquish after assassinating their own leader, the merciless General Tyronn. A coalition was formed, with dual left-handed and right-handed emperors.
The Fifth Pistran Civil War begins. This time, it is the barons overthrowing the dual Emperors and their decaying regime. Emperors Pangei and Kiskusk were captured and exiled to the Isle of Jest. The barons draft the Pistran Constitution, and appoint themselves to the Supreme Council of Ministers. Shortly afterwards, the Chancellor Michelle Campbellof Pistrix is elected by the people.
Princess Jura is summarily executed, when it is discovered that she was left-handed. It was believed that lefties had poisoned the royal bloodline, and the Caglio dynasty was replaced by the DeConti Family. The Caglios were exiled to the Isle of Jest, off the coast of Port Allegro.
Pistrix develops Mercs, values of the elemental liquid, mercury, as their national currency.
Mount Kwali is successfully scaled by Crown Prince Duke and his party. The expedition lasted over four months, while seven members of the party died.
