QT Pie

She's no doubt the cutest Picks member (that's why she's called QT!), but she doesn't try to get by on her fabulous looks alone. QT Pie is definitely a deep thinker with strategy and nerve, winning three Picks titles in 11 seasons. And the workout fanatic (several weekly visits to The Wellness Center) always finds time in her busy schedule to cook the meals of our lives!

QT is rarely seen without her iPod, which she calls the greatest invention in the history of mankind. She entered the league during a restructuring period in 1997. Her rookie campaign was quite successful, thanks in part to the heroics of quarterback Jake Plummer in the season's final game. With no timeouts, he led his Arizona Cardinals on a game-winning drive that covered the length of the field in less than two minutes. His touchdown pass with five seconds left not only beat the Falcons 29-26, but it gave QT the Picks crown.

Her inaugural season also produced one of the league's only perfect weeks, an 11-0 mark that put the veteran men in their place. The following year she recorded the hottest streak in history, going 53-16 over six straight weeks. The 43-year-old Wilmington native holds two of the 12 best records of all-time, going 149-66 in 1998 (No. 2) and 147-75 in 2001 (No. 12).

QT is simply nuts about lime Pepsi, her high-tech kitchen, diamond jewelry, relaxing on the beach, "Ocean's Eleven," power bowling, weekends in Galena, Hobby Lobby, fruit and yogurt parfaits, camping, Barry Manilow, dangerously fast water slides, Chili's steak fajitas, "Lost," playing pool, Yorkshire Terriers, "Everybody Loves Raymond," hammocks, driving fast in her fancy van, San Antonio's Riverwalk, the Oscars, Christmas time, Starbucks, Culver's Carmel Cashew Sundae, "The Office," Ice Cream Snickers and burrowing under her pillow. QT exfoliates quite often (whatever that means) and wears "oddly white" Reeboks. She's known by many secret admirers as the Village Babe from Addison Community Television.

QT was the force behind the online birth of Picks Central during the 2001 season. Her current role as Internet consultant keeps the wacky website running smoothly. She has a tendency to be feisty and short-fused on occasion, but says that's because she has "absolutely no tolerance for ignorant people." QT also has a soft side that reduces her to a puddle of tears during sad movies and TV shows. Her patience is remarkable, demonstrated in Week 13 of 2007 when she supervised a mammoth two-day baking event that produced a record 2,438 cookies in 14 varieties. Mercy!
