Brown's unexpected delivery in Tennessee keeps Deej from record

A package that United Parcel Service dropped off in Tennessee apparently kept D.J. from becoming the first person to go 13-0 in Picks history.  Deej finished 12-1 because of that surprising but unconfirmed delivery.

When contacted Sunday night, UPS officials denied being the obstacle in D.J.'s quest for the perfect week.  They acknowledged having delivered many packages in Nashville on Sunday, but UPS couldn't fathom a scenario that would have caused a loss in the Picks.

"Brown is known worldwide for its on-time performance and dependable deliveries, but that is not unexpected or surprising," said a UPS spokesman.  "I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Please leave us alone and stop blaming us."

In any case, the one game D.J. did not predict correctly was underdog Cleveland's stunning 31-28 victory in overtime against the host Titans.  The Browns recovered on onside kick that led to the tying touchdown.  What a shocking delivery in the clutch!  Deejmeister's tremendous week pulled her to within one game of QT Pie, who continues to lead the pack at 28-14.

The most unfortunate outcome of the Week 3 results probably rests with Mark, who also achieved a spectacular 12-1 record but was bumped from sharing the spotlight at the top of this story because he didn't fit into the ridiculous "brown" angle, which really didn't work that well anyway.  Our sincere apologies.

The twins not only shared pizza, pudding and the "Titanic" movie Sunday night, but also identical 9-4 records. Watch out for the Wonder Twins activating their power sometime soon.

And by the way, Pa's in dead last again.  Welcome home.
