Have you noticed?  Mark is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde

Although many already know that Mark's brain is a deep well of wrestling facts, obscure automobile knowledge, bits of Culver's Turtles and snapshots of babes in bikinis, what people don't know is that his mind is under the control of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

Simply look at Mark's weekly results in the Sunday Football Picks to understand this frightening split personality.  He drastically swings back and forth between great picks and terrible picks every week, apparently switching identities as well.

"It's very scary," said his older sister, who wished to remain anonymous when contacted at her Lombard home.  "I don't know what the heck he's thinking half the time.  He did great last week, but then he picked the lowly Bengals this week without Cincinnati guaranteeing a victory.  That's nuts."

The good Dr. Jekyl comes through with winning selections in odd-numbered weeks, compiling a tremendous 47-19 record.  The evil Mr. Hyde shows his ugly face in even-numbered weeks, amassing a horrendous 30-36 record.  Mark continued this bizarre chain of events in Week 10 with a mediocre 7-5 record.  In Week 9 he had tied for first place with a solid 9-4 performance.

"We prefer to call it the David Banner/Incredible Hulk syndrome," said veteran psychologist Dr. Beavis Snortenheiser.  "In Mark's case, the Hulk breaks through in the odd weeks and rescues his teams, while Banner is his typical boneheaded self in the even weeks, not being able to figure anything out."

Professional shrinks like Dr. Snortenheiser recommend that Mark counteract the nasty Mr. Hyde effect by either using his dartboard to select the winning teams, or simply reversing all his picks.  In the meantime, everyone should take a moment to congratulate Mark on the way he will bounce back to win Week 11 next Sunday.  Hello Dr. Jekyl!

You won't find a split personality with Girlie, whose impressive 10-2 record this week increased her first-place lead to three games.  She's consistently tough every Sunday!
