Kids do the darndest things, like out-picking the adults!

After enjoying a birthday bash at Chuck E. Cheese Friday night, the girlies proved there's another place where a kid can be a kid -- the Sunday Football Picks.  The youngsters ruled in Week 12 over their parents and uncle.

The trio of bratty children, with an average age of 12, blasted the veteran adults, whose average age is 36.  D.J., Nicki and Ali flew high with a combined record of 25-20, but Blaine, QT and Mark crashed and burned with a group effort of 18-27.

The length of Picks experience per adult is 11.3 years, while the kids have been members for an average span of just 3.3 years.  But who says experience is critical?  More importantly, the girlies have had the courage to make key underdog predictions that have paid major dividends in a season of parity in the NFL.

D.J. was the only person choosing the victorious Seahawks over the favored Chiefs.  Ali was the lone picker who had the Ravens surprising the Titans.  And Nicki's upset special was the Redskins breaking the Rams' five-game winning streak, even with Kurt Warner coming back.

On the other hand, the adults were lethargic in a week where the underdogs won half the games.  Blaine and Mark had no triumphant underdogs, but QT had two.  Her gutsy Colts won in the nasty elements of Denver, thanks to a huge 54-yard field goal through snowflakes that forced overtime, and an incredible 51-yard kick into a snowy breeze that won the game.

Girlie Time reached the 100-win plateau and expanded her first-place lead to four games with five weeks remaining.  Can she hang on to become only the second female ever to win the male-dominated Picks?  The competition will be tough.  If her dad does not come back to win the title, it will mark the longest segment of his 23-year career that he has not finished in first place, and he has no plans of that happening.

Everyone is advised to buckle up for the wild and woolly home stretch of this amazing race!
