| KO Peak is in eastern Pacific County. Although the intra-county repeater coverage from this site is not particularly complete, it has unique advantages for long distance linking and remote base operations. At over 2900 feet it is the highest station in the network and the frequency adgile remote base is able to connect with numerous other repeaters and simplex stations in the Pacific Northwest. It serves as the central linking hub station for BeachNet. Although only 6 miles south of Lebam WA, the road to the top is 15 miles once you leave the pavement, and is in an area of active logging operations. The log trucks drive like they own the road... ...because they DO. |

| The site is frequently snowed in during the winter months, and winds routinely top 100 mph. The harsh conditions take their toll on antennas and feedlines. The station equipment comprises a GE MASTR-II continuous duty base station and power supply running through a Phelps-Dodge 6-cavity bandpass duplexer to a 9 dB gain antenna on the top of the 80 foot tower (on top of the 15 foot building) using Andrew LDF5-50 7/8-inch hardline. The controller is an ACC RC-850 with the matching digital voice recorder. The remote base uses Icom 900-series band modules on the 10, 6, 2, and 1.25-meter and 70-centimeter FM bands. There is also a 1.25-meter repeater co-located. Normally operating as a stand-alone repeater, it can be linked to with the remote base. The 224.040 repeater enjoys coverage from Vancouver on the south to Tacoma on the north. |
