| The Nielton site overlooks Lake Quinault in northern Grays Harbor County. The repeater has excellent coverage from just north of Hoquiam up Hwy 101 to Kalaloch. In fact the coverage extends 60 miles or more out to sea. The station comprises a GE MASTR-II continuous duty base running 60 watts to a dual band antenna (shared with the co-located NEILTN packet station) mounted at the roof level of the building through a Sinclair duplexer. The GE Phoenix-SX link transceiver is mounted inside the GE chassis. It uses a 10.5 dB yagi for the 66-mile link path to KO Peak with reliable performance. |
