| Located in the heart of Long Beach WA, the repeater is housed in the equipment shack next to the 120-foot tower adjacent to the Pacific County building, providing saturation coverage in the Long Beach area. The station comprises a GE MASTR-II duplex-converted mobile chassis with a Motorola 4-cavity bandpass duplexer. The ACC RC-85 controller also operates a frequency adgile remote base on the 144, 222 and 440 MHz Amateur bands. The antennas are mounted near the top of the tower on the mounting bars provided, except for the 70-cm remote base antenna, which is a 10.5 dB yagi mounted about halfway up the tower and pointed east, primarilly for linking to the rest of the network. Pacific County maintains an Alternate Emergency Operating Center in the main building, with antennas on the roof. The Long Beach repeater was intended to supliment emergency communications from this facility. |

| Connecting this AEOC to the main Emergency Operating Center in South Bend is one goal of BeachNet. This remote base helps achieve that goal in the most flexible manner possible. The repeater, as with all BeachNet machines, can be taken off the network if the need arrises, allowing it to be used as a dedicated local resource as desired in a particular situation. | ||||||||||||||||||||
