BeachNet has flexible linking options that can facilitate Emergency Operations and Public Service Events.
The Normal linking mode is depicted in the top map (to the right). All the satellite repeaters are linked through the KO Peak station. A signal transmitted to any of the repeaters is heard over the entire network. The KO Peak Remote Base can be used to connect to a wide variety of other repeaters and simplex stations.

Using a single hub repeater for linking reduces the time lag on key-up and allows the special features to be shared over the network.

Many of the satellite repeaters can be switched to a secondary link. This is useful in case the KO Peak station should be unavailable.

It can also support a secondary network scheme parallel to the main scheme should more than one network be desired. This is accomplished by selectively disconnecting repeaters from the main network and switching specific links.

Three of the BeachNet stations (Long Beach, Naselle and KO Peak) incorporate Remote Base transceivers. These allow linking to virtually any repeater or simplex station within range. Any of the satellite repeaters that are connected to the remote base repeater can also utilize these links.

Additionally, the South Bend repeaters (442.675 & 147.340) can be split apart to operate as separate entities. The link to the rest of
BeachNet can be coupled to either (or neither). This allows a network port and a stand-alone repeater when desired.

The Olympia (Capitol Peak) 444.950 repeater will normally be disconnected to operate as a stand alone resource. Grays Harbor County has first priority, with Pacific County second. After those, any EMD agency may use this on an as-available basis.
BeachNet Remote Base Options
All BeachNet repeaters are available to support Emergency Communications at any time. The priority user is Pacific County Emergency Management Agency. After that, Public Service Events are supported, and except for those two situations, the entire network is available for general use by any licensed Amateur.

In times of Emergency, it is anticipated that the three Grays Harbor repeaters will disconnect from the network. The Cosi repeater can link to Minot, simplifying monitoring.

Pacific County will establish a link to Camp Murray with the KO Peak repeater, available through the Megler and South Bend stations. A link will be established from Long Beach to South Bend, either directly or through North Cove. A link to Capitol Peak is available through the Naselle station if required.
