SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE
Great Adventure is a theme park without any discernable theme. It is more like a giant amusement park with drive through Safari tacked on. However, it is colorful and popular, although its huge acreage often tires young visitors.The new rides have less emphasis on teenage screaming and are geared more for family participation. "Roaring Rapids," for instance, is a rather mild ride down a man-made river.The idea is to get you wet rather than get you scared.
For those who want to rest from the rides, there are a number of family shows. One of the best is "High Divers" a combination of skilled diving and buffoonery which alternates with the trained dolphin show at the Aqua stadium.
You are not allowed to bring food inside the park except to the designated picnic area near the Safari section and of course, you should not eat too much if you are going on any of the fast rides. Its also good idea to bring along towels and some dry clothes for the long drive home. Those water rides can really drench you. |
