ATLANTIC CITY As of now , only the Central Pier and the Tivoli Pier, a six-story amusement center built inside of the TropWorld hotel, offer boardwalk style amusements in Atlantic City. For those who like gambling or glitz or observing either of them(the painting of Hieronymus bosch may come to mind), Atlantic City is an exciting place. Other options include strolling on the boardwalk and watching the people or shopping. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer months, and you can visit the Absecon Lighthouse. The Atlantic city Art Center on the Garden Pier(Boardwalk and New Jersey Ave) has fine-art exhibits that change every month or two. Across the pier is the Atlantic City Historical Museum, which features photographs and memorabilia from the city's past. One photographic display changes to reflect topics of current interest,as,for example, Black History Month or the miss America Pageant.Annual events, in addition to the Miss America contest, include a dog show in December,an antique-cars show in february,an arts festival in April,a professional fine-arts show in June, and a crafts show in September.
