This is
a Lesson Plan that accompanies
a lecture, activity, and idpendent practice assignment on the Industrial
Revolution. The lesson plan was created and used in my World History class. The lesson plan is a fusion of work, both by myself and Mr. Brian Fied my cooperating teacher from T.C. Roberson, during my student teaching. Again, this is a lesson that could be easily adapted for a U.S. History class, specifically dealing with America's involvement in the Industrial Revolution. The aim of this lesson is to access the importance and impact of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britian, America, and the World while engaging students in a creative activity that allows them to think and act as inventors. It meets NC Standard Course of Study 5.4 by tracing the progress of the Industrial Revolution and assessing its affects on Europe and the World. By creating an enviroment where students work as a group and on their own, as well as incorporating tactile and visual learning styles, this assignment demonstrates that I understand how children learn and develop, and can provide learning opportunities that support their intellectual, social and personal development in line with INTASC Priciple #2. |
