You were a treasure to behold;
no task was too difficult
--
never too busy to
kiss a hurt and make it feel better!

You wore many hats;
you taught by example and
knew how to eke out a living during the depression:
We never felt poor;
we felt secure in your love
and knew everything was going to be alright!
You and Dad were something else!
When a handshake
sealed a deal and a man was as good as his word.

You made life worth the living!
If we couldn't say anything good about
someone, we were not to say
anything at all.

--------
Birds of a feather flock together so choose your friends well.
Do unto others as you
would have them do unto you.
Any job worth doing at all was worth doing right!

Baking fresh loaves of
bread,
divinity candy,

playing the organ (after we were in bed)
when 9 p.m. was late,

galore
-when peonies were 'pineys'
and gladiolas were 'glads' and so
much more...
