Discernment

Discernment is one of the gifts I value from God. With discernment, I can pray and be assured that He is in the process of answering my prayer though circumstances remain the same; I have PEACE and JOY with CONTENTMENT while He is bringing it to pass. It is of utmost importance that I keep focused on God and not prevailing circumstances. In trusting God and waiting on an answer, patience is doing a work in me for my maturing in the faith! Sometimes He says, "Yes" - sometimes He says, " No" and sometimes He says, "Wait". (Wait on the Lord & do not make a hasty decision). In God's timing, He will answer and may have something better for me for He knows my heart! I am to try the Spirit to see if it be of God for Satan goes to and fro' upon the earth seeking to devour, discourage and damage my witness (1 PETER 5:8).  As a Christian, I have guardian angels to protect me (PSALMS 91:11). Faith comes by my hearing the word of God and I can know God's will for many decisions; I know it is God's will that 'Whosoever will' can come into a personal relationship with Christ my redeemer. He knew me in my mother's womb (ISAIAH 44:2). He gave me a choice; I am not a puppet! My only reason for being here on earth is to glorify God! I read in GENESIS 6:6 that He was sorry He made mankind but He is a God of second chances and He's still working on me! The King James Bible is a favorite but the Message Bible by Eugene Peterson and including words by Billy Graham is soooo easy to understand:  following David's incident with Bathsheba he cries out to God to take him to the woodshed and repents of his sin and begs to be restored to fellowship with God. He is willing to undergo discipline for he has sinned; God can deal with honesty and obedience:  God told Abraham to leave his land and go into an unknown land and He would make of him a father of many nations and Abraham obeyed; God told Noah to build an ark at a time when the earth had not known rain and Noah obeyed. What Faith! What Trust! What Obedience!

In closing, I keep focus on God and not circumstances; wait I say on the Lord and be of good cheer (PROVERBS 20:22) and it will come to pass God's timing!

Note from Ann to all concerned:  I do take your prayer requests seriously. I do pray believing and knowing that distance is no problem with God, no wall is too high or too thick, that the Holy Spirit cannot come to your aid. I also know that Jesus is our intercessor knowing what is good for us and when my special prayer partner and I pray, we are basing results on the scripture: “Where two or more are gathered in my Name and agree on one thing, I will be in the midst of them.”

Scripturally speaking, we will prosper as our soul prospers. Another scripture which means a lot to me and I offer for consideration, “If my people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear their voice and come to their rescue.”

Some of my memorized verses which I rely on:

  • Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a present help in time of trouble.

  • Another favorite:  He that is within me (Holy Spirit) is greater than he (Satan) which is in the world.

  • Another favorite:  I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.

  • Another favorite:  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. (Because there couldn’t be a shadow unless there was a light and Jesus is that light.)

  • Another favorite:  Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.

Praise the Lord!
