As Years Go By . . .

I share these truths -sayings- quotes as remembered from childhood - teen and adult life:  I don't know who said them  - or who to give credit to - but they have enriched my life!  Many were taught at mother's knee to teach the value of a penny saved is a penny made or a stitch in time saves nine as examples remembered.  Even today I pass them on to my children and grandchildren - and now to you the public.

GOD BLESS.

God couldn't be everywhere so he made mothers.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Can't see the forest for the trees.

I would rather hope for more and get half of it than to wish for nothing and get all of it!

Wise as an owl

If you can't say something good about someone  - don't say anything at all.

  Watch your P's and Q's.

And so on and so forth

You're just spoofing.

Up the creek without a paddle

The laziest man alive put popcorn in his pancakes so they'd turn over by themselves.

Time waits for no one.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, NOT do unto other before they do unto you.

He's not heavy, he's my brother.

He's got you in a corner.

Jump on it quick!

He spilled the beans.  (Told a secret by mistake)

He's as honest as the day is long.

A cat has nine lives

Let a smile be your umbrella.

He's having a pity party.

At the drop of a hat!

I would rather be at home and want to be at church than to be in church and want to be at home.

God loves a cheerful giver; if I gave any more,    I wouldn't be cheerful.

  The sooner the better

Give me my roses while I'm living.

Out on a limb

Land sakes alive!

Cut to the quick

God plus one = an army.

Now let's get this straight.

Why is a dog man's best friend?

One wags their tongue

the dog wags its tail.

Note from Ann to all concerned:  I do take your prayer requests seriously. I do pray believing and knowing that distance is no problem with God, no wall is too high or too thick, that the Holy Spirit cannot come to your aid. I also know that Jesus is our intercessor knowing what is good for us and when my special prayer partner and I pray, we are basing results on the scripture: “Where two or more are gathered in my Name and agree on one thing, I will be in the midst of them.”

Scripturally speaking, we will prosper as our soul prospers. Another scripture which means a lot to me and I offer for consideration, “If my people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear their voice and come to their rescue.”

Some of my memorized verses which I rely on:

  • Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a present help in time of trouble.

  • Another favorite:  He that is within me (Holy Spirit) is greater than he (Satan) which is in the world.

  • Another favorite:  I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.

  • Another favorite:  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. (Because there couldn’t be a shadow unless there was a light and Jesus is that light.)

  • Another favorite:  Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.

Praise the Lord!
