Moments to Ponder

  I share these truths -sayings- quotes as remembered from childhood - teen and adult life:  I don't know who said them  - or who to give credit to - but they have enriched my life!  Many were taught at mother's knee to teach the value of a penny saved is a penny made or a stitch in time saves nine as examples remembered.  Even today I pass them on to my children and grandchildren - and now to you the public.  

I don't want to beat a dead horse. 

The devil made me do it.

He won't be home till the cows come home. 

  Her face could stop a clock.

He's licking his wounds. 

  Heads I win - Tails you lose. 

Old men decide wars but it's the young men who serve.

It sure is hard for a sinner to live a Christian life.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

The welcome mat is out!

  Madder than an old wet hen. 

He's a ten cent millionaire (brags.)

I can't hear what you say -    for what you do.

They're well oiled (wealthy.)

Looking for a diamond in the rough. 

  The bottom line is -- read the fine print!

I know what's what.

If you think your problems are behind you,    chances are you're driving a school bus.

What's good for the gander is good for the goose.

A son is your son 'till he gets a wife.  Your daughter is your daughter all of your life.

Note from Ann to all concerned:  I do take your prayer requests seriously. I do pray believing and knowing that distance is no problem with God, no wall is too high or too thick, that the Holy Spirit cannot come to your aid. I also know that Jesus is our intercessor knowing what is good for us and when my special prayer partner and I pray, we are basing results on the scripture: “Where two or more are gathered in my Name and agree on one thing, I will be in the midst of them.”

Scripturally speaking, we will prosper as our soul prospers. Another scripture which means a lot to me and I offer for consideration, “If my people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear their voice and come to their rescue.”

Some of my memorized verses which I rely on: 

• Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a present help in time of trouble.

• Another favorite:  He that is within me (Holy Spirit) is greater than he (Satan) which is in the world.

• Another favorite:  I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.

• Another favorite:  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. (Because there couldn’t be a shadow unless there was a light and Jesus is that light.)

• Another favorite:  Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.
