Although you may not have noticed, there are vampires in Vvardenfell. Not only that, but there are three different Clans you have the opportunity to join. They are the Berne Clan (specialises in thief type activities), the Aundae Clan (specialises in mage type activities), and the Quarra Clan (specialises in warrior type activities). There are also several Additional Vampire Quests to be performed.
Joining a Vampire Clan is a little different to joining a Guild or faction. First off, the process of joining a faction rarely involves nearly getting yourself killed. All vampires are pretty powerful, and you'll have to survive an encounter with one if you want to catch vampirism. The vampire you get bitten by will determine the Clan you end up joining. If you manage to get bitten by the wrong one, just drink a Cure Common Disease Potion or get yourself healed at a temple. First off, the trouble is finding vampires. Unless you know where to look, you might not even notice that Vvardenfell has these blood sucking inhabitants. They are talked about buy lots of the people in Morrowind, but they talk about lots of things.
Vampire Lairs can be found around the Vvardenfell, with each one being presided over by one of the three Clans.
Some of the vampire habbits are a little hard to stomach (the feeding cattle especially), but once you get used to it, the vampiric life can be an enjoyable one.
The Berne Clan of vampires specialises in quietness and sneakery under Raxle Berne, which causes no wonder that most of the rogue vampires in Vvardenfell are Bernes. Unlike factions, Vampire Clans do not have favoured skills, they actually get boosts to various skills and atributes. Some of these boosts are common throughout all three Clans, others aren't. Aside from dealing with the Clan Ancient (or head batman), you'll have the opportunity to attempt the Additional Vampire Quests.
