Quote |
'Graphic
design grew out of changes
from the 18th century (the
dominion framework for design
in general was the increase
of mass production and consumption)
based on joint forces of
arts, industry and commerce,
and the view that it reflects
a range of individual designers
interpretation of culture
and their own differing
vision of expressing their
views.' |

GD
is a complicated profession, in
its modern perception, with its
own language and technical skills,
which developed together with
civilization and evolved to address
particular needs of our society. |
The interdisciplinary
quality of GD makes it difficult
to describe the profession in
one word. GD oversees many other
disciplines (which have their
one complex structure, history
and technologies) as; art, craft,
cultures, design, typography,
illustration, photography, film,
animation and technology. |
|
|
|
Each
project has to be well planned, researched
and interpreted baring some of the newest
application and technologies and still comply
with economic constrain and goals. |
|
|
GD popularly is considered
a commercial activity, but only because we
are living in consumerist society where goods
for everyday use are mass produced and widely
available in many forms. |
|
Product packaging, newspapers,
magazines, maps and charts, television programs,
books, postcards, catalogue, films, various
travel information etc. are used in millions
every day. In simple words |

Quote |
'By making comparisons
between definitions, various point
of view and the linguistic differences
as to what art and what graphic
design was then, and what does
it mean now one can acquire further
knowledge, better understanding
and over all become a better graphic
designer.' |
