World Championship in Women's Team Handball 2005 - Skt. Petersburg

  ... more in the news

logo championship 2005

This will be the last time that coach Jan Pytlick leads his team to a Championship - or any other match for that matter, since he has decided to end his career after Skt. Petersburg. Who will be the next man in the job, we still don't know. Unfortunately it is not very likely that it becomes a woman - the only candidate Anja Andersen is not very interested in dealing with the official bureaucracy which the team must answer to. We also have to say goodbye to prominent players Mette Vestergaard, Ditte Andersen and Rikke Hørlykke.

Again, you will have to get used to new young players - I have said this sentence too many times before. The performance is therefore not always of the highest quality as the old ones can't work wonders on their own.

The nasty defeat to Austria is one of the team's worst experiences. Pytlick was so angry, that on the way home to the hotel, he stopped the bus and threw the taped match into a river. To be forgotten.
