Reading week is an interesting time. For me and most of my friends, it represents a time where classes are cancelled and we are supposed to study but instead we do everything not related to class. the weird thing is that you can almost taste the tension. like the whole world is collectively nervously sweating about the upcoming finals week.

this year i have two final papers and one final exam. i'm not worried about the exam yet. i won't do that shit till saturday. but i decided to hedge my bets and get both profs to accept drafts of my finals. that means that i have due dates this week too! hurray! so i am working on a draft of my shakespeare paper to turn in for tomorrow, and then i turn in a draft of the history one by friday. plus, the NUMB banquet is tomorrow, i have dinner with golden apple and a basketball game on wednesday (i play tenor in basketball band)and and and and....

that's one of my favorite ways to portray rush-ness in my writing. anyway....

reading week is always so freaking fun but also it really really sucks because there are so many things we should be doing. soo i guess that reading week is basically a microcosm (is that the right word?) of my college experience as a whole.

except for this past extended thanksiving weekend. it was, as rosemary would say, starry. it was our first anniversary. amazing how much you know (and how much you have left to find out) after a year. a discussion we had at the beginning of the week kinda made me feel like anything that i ever needed rosemary to know about me she now knows, and you know what? that doesn't bother me at all. she knows a few things NO ONE else does...deep dark secret type stuff. and that's fine.

god, can you imagine the war of words on the 'net if we eveer break up? hee hee hee....

so week started well. we went to see being john malkovich. rad flick. go here if you have seen it already, otherwise, don't, cuz it'll ruin the surprise. anyway, good flick. then we went to marengo for turkey day. saw the movie sleepy hollow--beautiful, but kinda dumb and gory. we ate turkey and watched sportscenter. and the texas/texas a&m game. my cousin had the nerve to harass her about "texans not knowing how to build a bonfire".

we came home on friday night. spent much time in each others arms. and then sunday i surprised her with a visit to the windows at field's and carson's downtown followed by going to see the traditional Goodman production of a christmas carol. it was so...wonderful. i got teary eyed a few times from the show, and a few times this week just from being so close to rosemary.

so the weekend was good, but the week ahead, well, lets just say it's going to have it's ups and it's downs.

at least i have her to keep me from going batty.

go see the promise ring and burning airlines sunday at the fireside. they are fucking phenomenal. oh, and if you email me, but you know my school address, write me there instead. i hardly ever check the one listed below. i plan on writing about the protest in georgia that my pal colin just took place in soon; until then, i remain:
