"Chapter 3: Culture" Cornell notes Click here for Artifact 1 (opens in new window; Adobe Reader required)
For this assignment, I had to take Cornell notes so that I would be able to study better for the quiz that came up about culture, norms, societal categories, etc. These are like any other Cornell notes that a student takes in class. The only difference with these notes is that they are graded. Usually when you think of notes, automatically, you think of self-studying and whatnot, but that is not the case of these notes. The teacher grades it based on amount, content, and how many examples you have for each term. Of course, neatness counts. Also, drawing key points in the chapter is always a plus. That is why in these notes the examples take up so much more space than the definition itself. This shows that I am a productive individual, because I was able to get extra points on just this one assignment by taking a lot of informative and valuable notes.
"Assignment #24" math homework Click here for Artifact 2
This assignment was given to me and my class by Mr. Thomas. We usually get homework everyday, and just like the rest, the day we got assigned this particular was like any other day. In the beginning of the year, I had troubling factoring. Whenever we were given problems that dealt with factoring, Id simply skip it. I knew what factoring was, and understood how to, but I still had some difficulty with it. The reason I chose this assignment is because this is the first time that I actually went forward to do the work and finally understood how to factor. When I was finished with this assignment, I was surprised that I didnt understand or want to do factoring, because it is extremely simple. The whole assignment dealt with multiplying and dividing rational expressions, which I thought that I would be weak at. In the end, I was able to complete the entire assignment with little or no difficulty.
