Being a panelist for Senior Exit Presentations helped me gain more knowledge as to how they will be when I walk into the room two years from now. I experienced first-hand what type of questions panelists will ask the seniors, because I asked them myself. With this, I will be able to answer each question more effectively, since I have had time to think about how to respond to them. Also, I noticed that there were some people who might be the most outgoing outside of the room, but while they were presenting, they had trouble speaking, or had beads of sweat dripping down their face as they were struggling to find the words to speak.
Generally, me and the three other panelists in the room gave decent or passing grades. No one did so bad as to not pass, but there were a few who just barely made it. Also, there were a few people who performed for us, which I enjoyed. Another senior even gave us some smoothies from Jamba Juice, which I liked the best, though that didnt have an effect on how they were graded (she did well, by the way).
Taking this into account, learning from some of the presenters mistakes will help me in being able to have a good presentation. By then, I will be able to speak comfortably in front of a group of strangers and present myself and my portfolio with proficiency.
"Community Service at the public library" verification form Click here for Artifact 2
This is the verification form that the Civic Center librarys volunteer coordinator, Fabiola Mendiola, signed to confirm that I actually did the work for thirty hours. During those thirty hours, I was assigned to help the employees in different tasks, such as picking up books that were out of place (whether they be on tables or shelves) and shelving. Most of the time, however, I alphabetized recently returned books in the back room of the Circulation Department. It wasnt too exciting, but at the same time, there was never a dull moment. For some reason, I like do anything that deals with filing, alphabetizing, or in general, just keeping things in order, so I grew a liking to working at the library. The only thing I didnt like about staying in the backroom is that after a while, my eyes would start feeling dry and itchy; probably because of all the dusty, old books around me.
